scatterbrained

coming to an end

I have just returned to my Sacramento apartment after being absent for 2.5 weeks.  It was nice :P I had a lot of fun and I can say that my summer is almost complete.  Within the 2.5 weeks I was able to spend quality time with my [long-distance] boyfriend, visit me parents & family in SoCal, revive a couple high school friendships, eat delicious food, see Boyz II Men, and most importantly…I learned to give everyone a chance before forming any judgments.

My internship deals with adults and seniors, which isn’t related to my future aspirations nor is it my forte. Luckily, my agency works with the place that my aptmate is interning at and they had a 3-day camping trip planned.  She was thoughtful enough to mention this event to me and asked her supervisor if I could join in as a chaperone…he said yes.  [Chau-cha, I’m talking about Fweckles]  I ended up spending the night at her home in SF and we drove together the following morning.  You can learn SO much about a person from their home life and their relationship with his/her parents.  This girl that I’ve been so close-minded about is actually a lot like me.  Camping was a blast and I was able to connect with some high school students.  They had tons of questions and were interested in what I had to say…it was a great learning experience for both sides.   Anyway, I hung out with my aptmate all day when we returned from camping and had dim sum for her bday…you can say we bonded.  I must say, her company took a lot of getting used to, but in the last stretch of my Sacramento residency I’m happy that I was able to “make something” of this experience.

On a heavier note [kinda emo] this means I only have 2 weeks left with Marc in SF…unless I get the position I applied for last week *fingers crossed*  I’m not taking any time we spend together for granted.  From grocery shopping, looking for jeans, getting ready for a night out, or watching movies at home- I’m really getting used to seeing him on a daily/weekly basis.  His parents always say “make yourself feel at home” and I finally think I’m a point where his house does feel like a second home to me.  We both already know that it’s going to suck when I have to leave after NYC, but we can’t let that damper the 2 weeks left.  New York will be fun and we’ll both turn into fat girls ahaha.  After that, we’ll see where life takes me and work from there…we’re both willing and able to make it through distance.  On that kinda sad note, I’m gonna start packing for NYC and home…
